There is no difference they are all the same thing.
Pregnancy yoga is a modified form of traditional yoga. The postures and breathing exercises are gentle and have been tailored specifically for pregnancy.
We advise women not to start pregnancy yoga classes until week 14 of their pregnancy.
If you feel you would like to consult your doctor or midwife before starting pregnancy yoga classes then we would advise you to do so. It may dispel any worries you have.
The answer to this one is a very simple no.
No, pregnancy is the perfect time for you to start yoga for the first time.
As with all yoga classes it is recommended that you do not eat for two hours before coming to class. However if it is necessary for you to eat within this period a few dry biscuits or similar half an hour before class are unlikely to be a problem.
Loose comfortable clothing is recommended. Loose draw string or elasticated trousers with a comfortable sweat shirt or tee shirt are ideal. Whatever you wear the most important thing is to feel comfortable and relaxed.
Most pregnancy yoga classes consists of three basic elements; gentle postures both static and flowing, breathing exercises, and relaxation. Therefore in a pregnancy yoga class you will usually practice various combinations of these elements in a structured way. Class content is usually balanced so that each posture is followed by a short relaxation period. Breathing exercises are undertaken alone or in combination with a posture and or a relaxation period.
